How We Helped Transform Stockton’s Media Presence

In 2016, the City of Stockton faced a significant challenge: limited media presence in what many described as a “media desert.” With little-to-no mainstream outlets available to effectively communicate with the community, vital information and city initiatives struggled to reach the public. That’s when CSUITEMUSIC stepped in to help bridge the gap.

We collaborated with the Office of the Mayor to create a comprehensive media strategy, producing a series of short films for social media that broke down key initiatives and proposals. In addition, we built the official website for the Mayor’s Office and several others for Stockton’s various initiatives. These platforms allowed community members to easily access critical information, data, reports, and even communicate directly with their city government.

In 2017, we teamed up with Mayor Michael Tubbs and Senator Kamala Harris to produce a video addressing pressing issues like health outcomes, education, public safety, and economic opportunities for underprivileged communities. Our partnership with Stockton Unified School District also resulted in the creation of StocktonScholars.org, a $20 million scholarship fund empowering local students to pursue higher education or vocational training.

During the devastating California wildfires of 2018, we partnered with the City of Stockton and the NBA G-League team Stockton Kings to launch StocktonHelpsParadise.org, a centralized platform for donations. This effort raised over $100,000 to support wildfire victims in Northern California.

In another bold initiative, we supported Mayor Tubbs’ Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration (SEED), the nation’s first basic income pilot program. The video we produced for SEED gained widespread attention, sparking a national conversation about universal basic income. Featured by major outlets like ABC News, Forbes, BET, CNN, and MSNBC, the campaign not only amplified Stockton’s story but also highlighted innovative approaches to tackling income inequality.

Our work with Stockton has delivered measurable results, proving the transformative power of strategic media and storytelling. By addressing challenges and empowering communities, we helped Stockton build a stronger connection between its leadership and residents—one story at a time.
